Profiles

Profiles are the hub for all employee information in Bridgit. Each profile displays a person's work history, assignments, certifications, contact details, and availability in a single view.
Key capabilities:
View current and upcoming assignments with issue indicators
Access employment details, contact information, and certifications in one place
Add people to projects directly from their profile
Collaborate with team members through notes and activity tracking
Track certifications with expiration alerts
How to Use
Accessing Profiles
Navigate to the People section
Click on any person's name to open their profile
Hover over the ← People button in the top left hand corner to preview the People list and jump between profiles without returning to the main list.
Summary Panel
The left column shows a persistent summary visible regardless of which tab you're viewing:

Assignments Tab
The Assignments tab shows all project assignments
View all current, upcoming and past assignments
Orange dot for "Issues" indicators show scheduling conflicts
Click the Issues indicator to see a popup with issue dates, contributing projects, and total assigned percentage (for Salaried profiles)
Details Tab
The Details tab combines employment, contact, and certification information:
Details section: Custom fields including the "Other" field for extended text
Employment Dates section: Start dates for company that fuel industry tenure
Contact Information section: Email, phone, and address
Certifications: Color-coded status (red for expired, orange for expiring soon)
Attachments section: Uploaded files and documents
Deactivate Person button (for users with permission)
All sections are collapsible and remember their state. Details, Employment Dates, and Contact Information expand by default; Certifications and Attachments start collapsed.
Notes and Activities
The right column provides collaboration and tracking tools:
Notes panel: Latest messages displayed bottom-up
Activity Log panel: Tracks changes and actions on the profile
Common Workflows
Quick assignment from profile: Open the person's profile, check their current assignments and availability in the Summary panel, then click "Add to project" to assign them.
Review certification status before assignment: Navigate to the Details tab, expand the Certifications section, and check for red (expired) or orange (expiring soon) indicators.
Investigate scheduling conflicts: Open the Assignments tab, look for orange Issues indicators, then click the indicator to see which projects and dates conflict, plus total assignment percentage.
Collaborate on workforce decisions: Add a note in the Notes panel to discuss assignments or concerns, click the reply icon next to a colleague's note to @ mention them, and check the Activity Log to see recent changes.
Common Questions
Q: How do I navigate between profiles without going back to the People list?
Hover over the ← People button at the top of any profile. A preview of the People list will appear, showing your current filters and search. Click any name to jump directly to that profile. The preview disappears when you move your mouse away.
Q: Why don't I see company or industry tenure in the Summary panel?
Tenure only displays if the corresponding start date has been entered. Navigate to the Details tab and expand Employment Dates to add this information.
Q: Can I edit profile information directly from the Summary panel?
You can edit the profile photo and name from the Summary panel by clicking on them. For all other information, navigate to the Details tab.
Q: Can I delete a person's profile?
Profiles cannot be deleted, but they can be deactivated. To deactivate a profile, open the person's profile, go to the Details tab, and click Deactivate Person.
To reactivate a profile, administrators can go to People Settings and select Deactivated People.
