Add Roles Using Phase Dates

Any Roles created in the Project Settings can be added to a project. Roles can also be set up with phase dates if the project has phases.

Add a Role Using Phase Dates via the Project List

1. Select the requested project. 
2. Under the Operations tab, add the role(s) using the Add Role button.
3. Under Quick Dates, a dropdown displays available phases. The default choice is the entire project. If Quick Dates do not appear, the project does not have any phases set up yet.
4. Select the button to customize allocations by phase dates. 
5. The Custom Allocation window displays the selected phases as well as the overlapping dates. Allocation breakdowns can also be set by custom range, monthly, or weekly. Select Save to confirm. 
6. Select Save Roles. 

Once the role is created, proceed with placing a person in that role. 

Add a Role Using Phase Dates via the Projects Gantt

1. Under the requested project, select Add icon. 
2. Select the role type from the list. 

3. Under Quick Dates, there is a dropdown that displays available phases. The default choice is the entire project. 

4. The Copies of role box allow duplicates of a role needed on a project. 
5. Click the button under "Allocation %" to customize allocations by phase dates. 
6. The Custom Allocation window displays the selected phases as well as the overlapping dates. Allocation breakdowns can also be set by custom range, monthly, or weekly. Select Save to confirm. 
7. Click Save. 

Modify Phase Dates and Impacted Roles

To modify phases in either List or Gantt views, select the project then navigate to the Dates tab.

When modifying existing phase dates, click Save and an edit modal opens outlining all of the potential impacts

Phase Date Edited

• The impacted phase and tentative change will be presented at the top of the edit window.

Project Date Changes

• The checkbox displays which phase will be affected.

Impacted Phases

• The other phases of the project can be shifted to align with the updated phase or left as-is by selecting or deselecting the checkbox. Sub-phases are not displayed but can be impacted by the change to phases.

Impacted Roles

• Confirm which roles are impacted by the change. Roles can be left with the current dates or extended/shifted accordingly to align with the updates.
