Adding a Role Using Phase Dates
Roles created in the Project Settings can be added to a project. If the project has phases, roles can be added to a project using phases.
0% Allocation
Some roles aren't necessarily required for a continuous period of time on a project. When a role is set to 0% allocation, this means that the role is not required on the project at that time.
- For example, a Project Manager may be on a project for Pre-construction and Construction phases but there is a two-month gap between the phases due to a delay in permits.
0% allocation is set via Custom Range in the Customize Allocation window.
- Select the required project.
- In the Roles section, scroll to the requested role.
- Click the edit pencil icon under the % column.
- Click the three edit dots icon, which will open the Customize Allocation window.
- Select Custom Range and create a custom range for the dates needed:
- Once the custom range has been created (November 1-20, 2021, in the following screenshot), click on the 100% allocation and change it to 0:
- Click Save to confirm.
Using this method will help ensure accuracy with role counts.
