Using Bridgit Field as a subcontractor, you will be able to receive and complete project tasks with minimal communication with your General Contractor (GC), manage and prioritize your outstanding project tasks in real-time, and communicate your completed work with the tap of a button!
Subcontractors have been provided 3 ways to access tasks based on their needs and preferences:
Bridgit Field Mobile App
Subcontractor Project Access Through the Mobile App
You will receive a Welcome Email from Bridgit notifications@gobridgit.com to set up your access. You will use the email address the Welcome Email was sent to. If you did not receive a Welcome Email, please review the troubleshooting steps outlined here.
If you have an iPhone or Android device, download the Bridgit app from the respective app store. This will make marking items ‘complete’ even easier and you can use it on the job site!
When you open the app you will see the below 3 icons to give you access to your Tasks, Notifications, and a Directory containing contact info for the Projects Managing team as well as your own team.
Tasks
Tapping on the Tasks icon will bring you to an area that will divide your tasks by Status - Open, Complete, and Closed. Open tasks is where you will go to view your incomplete tasks.
You will also notice additional filters to choose from (List, Location, People, and Tags) - Status and Location, which sorts tasks by room/unit, will be the most effective for Subcontractors.
Tap on each task to see the details and then select the Complete button at the bottom to indicate the task has been completed. Tasks can also be reopened as required as long as it hasn’t been approved by the Project Manager (PM).
Under the Photos section, you will be able to take a photo of the completed work or attach an existing photo from your device by tapping on one of the following icons:
Notifications
The Notifications area is separated into 2 areas: Tasks Updates and Comments.
- Task Updates will display information such as newly assigned tasks, upcoming due tasks, and rejected tasks.
- Comments will show notes or messages that have been added to a task after it's been opened. This can also include further instructions or a summary of why a task was rejected.
Directory
The Project Directory will give you access to the contact info for all users managing the project as well as your company's team members.
Weekly/Daily Email Notifications
Subcontractor Project Access through Task Summary Emails
If you choose not to download the app you will still have access to your tasks through Daily and Weekly Task Summary emails.
- Daily Emails are generally sent at 7 am every day and include all tasks created for you on the previous day. (Subject to setup/change by GC)
- Weekly Emails are generally sent on Mondays at 7 am and include all tasks that have been assigned to you but have not yet been addressed. (Subject to setup/change by GC)
All of the links in task summary emails are pre-authenticated. This means that when you click on the link, you will be taken straight into the Bridgit Field web app on your computer or mobile device without having to sign in or create a password.
NOTE: If no tasks are created for you the previous day, you will not receive an email.
When you receive your task email, you will have a choice to View All Tasks or to choose a specific task you’d like to review. Tapping on either of these options will open up the Bridgit Field web app.
Tasks
Tap on a task to review the available information. The Task Title and Location will be populated but additional task info can be included such as a floor plan markup, photos, tags, due date, and value.
At the top of the task, you will also see a “Complete” button. When you have finished the task, feel free to hit “Complete” and move on to your next task. Please keep in mind that a “Reopen” button will take the place of “Complete” so you will have a chance to take the task back if needed.
Also, note that you will be able to take a photo of the completed work or attach a photo that you’ve already taken. Simply tap on the large grey area in the photo area and attach a photo with one of the following options:
Notifications
Notifications can be found at the bottom of your Task Summary Emails but also from within the web app. On the Web App, the Notifications area is separated into 2 areas: Task Updates and Comments.
- Task Updates will display information such as newly assigned tasks, upcoming due tasks, and rejected tasks.
- Comments will show notes or messages that have been added to a task after it's been opened. This can also include further instructions or a summary of why a task was rejected.
Via Exported Reports
Subcontractor Project Access Through the Exported PDF Reports
PDF reporting is the least ideal way to get your tasks through Bridgit Field. It's much more advantageous to access tasks through the Bridgit Field app or Task Summary Emails, which eliminates the need for manually creating reports/paperwork and streamlines the communication between subcontractors and general contractors.
However, if you don't have a smartphone/mobile device, PDF task reports can be exported and printed out by your GC or a teammate.
